Busta's real name is Trevor Smith, Jr., in case you didn't know.
I've been asked plenty of times to talk about L.O.N.S., so I will. The Leaders Of The New School, which also signed with the Elektra record label, was the group that Busta Rhymes was first in. The other members of the group were Milo, Dinco, and Charlie Brown. Busta and Charlie Brown first hooked up in 1986 with Dinco and Busta's cousin Milo. At the time, Busta's hip-hop name was Chill-O-Ski, but Chuck D (from Public Enemy) would later bestow on him the name Busta Rhymes, because Busta's rapping styles reminded Chuck D of a famous football player named Buster. L.O.N.S. came out with a debut LP called Future Without A Past, and the single "Case of the P.T.A." in 1991.
In 1993, they came out with a second album entitled T.I.M.E., and about two months after the release, the group split up. That's when Busta came out with his solo project The Coming in March 26, 1996, which eventually went platinum. His second album, When Disaster Strikes (released September 16, 1997), was also a hit. Featuring songs like "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See" and "Dangerous", it eventually went 2x platinum. And now with the release of his new album, Extinction Level Event (December 15th, 1998), Busta is sure to make lotsa people bounce to his joints all year 'round.
Busta has also expanded his career into acting.
Three movies that he was in are Higher Learning, Strapped and Who's the Man?. He has also appeared on The Steve Harvey Show.
In Higher Learning, he played 'Dreads', one of Fudge's homies. Fudge is played by Ice Cube.
